When you file bankruptcy your bill collectors cannot continue to harass you or try to collect for debts included in the bankruptcy. They also cannot garnish you, call you, or call other people to collect on the debt. Best of all once you file they can no longer contact you and all correspondence will come through our office.
Once you have retained Brown and Seelye simply give them our number and tell the creditor you have retained an attorney and are filing for bankruptcy. Let us deal with them for you!
On the day your case is filed the bankruptcy court gives you an "Automatic Stay" from your creditors. This means that the creditors are prohibited from pursuing almost all collection activity and for the debts discharged in bankruptcy this means they are stopped from calling you FOREVER.
It is the Federal Law and your legal right to stop bill collectors by filing bankruptcy.
